INFORMATION BULLETIN (02-84) October 1, 2002 Sustainable Fisheries Division 3:15 p.m. 907-586-7228 NMFS ANNOUNCES 2003 R&R WORKSHOP SCHEDULE The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Region, and the United States Coast Guard, North Pacific Regional Fisheries Training Center (USCG) will present workshops for the fishing industry on 2003 recordkeeping and reporting (R&R) requirements for fisheries of the exclusive economic zone off Alaska, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS. Regulations implementing R&R requirements are found at 50 CFR part 679. The workshops will present groundfish and Individual Fishing Quota (IFQ) R&R requirements along with instructions for completion and submittal of the required forms and logsheets, including new electronic submittal options. Suggestions, questions, and feedback from participants on new and existing procedures and regulations are welcome. The workshops are scheduled as follows: NOAA Western Regional Center November 12, 2002 Building 9, Room A/B 1:00 p.m. for vessels 7600 Sandpoint Way N.E. 3:30 p.m. for shoreside processors Seattle, Washington [Please state to Security that you are attending the NOAA R&R Workshop] FISH EXPO November 14, 2002 Room 303 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Washington State Trade and Convention Center Seattle, Washington Tentative workshops in Dutch Harbor, Kodiak, and Sitka are being considered.
