NMFS OPENS DIRECTED FISHING FOR POLLOCK
IN STATISTICAL AREA 620 OF THE GULF OF ALASKA

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for pollock in Statistical Area 620 (between 154 degrees and 159 degrees W. longitudes) of the Gulf of Alaska, effective 1200 hrs, Alaska local time (A.l.t.), September 11, 2004, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to fully use the 2004 C season total allowable catch of pollock specified for Statistical Area 620. Other closures remain in full force and effect.
