FISHERIES CHIEF TO MEET WITH CONSTITUENTS IN ALASKA On June 13, NOAA Fisheries chief Bill Hogarth will meet with constituents in Kodiak Alaska. The session will take place in conjunction with the Northern Pacific Fishery Management Council meeting, from 2 p.m.- 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., at the Best Western Kodiak Inn, 236 W Rezanof Drive Kodiak, AK 99615. Anyone interested in federal management of marine resources is invited to attend.Bill Hogarth, director of NOAA Fisheries, will be traveling throughout the summer to meet with fishermen and other constituents around the country about fishery management issues. The sessions are intended to gather public input on ways to improve the effectiveness of NOAA Fisheries and its management of living marine resources. The regional sessions will be a collaborative effort involving all major marine fisheries interests - councils, commercial and recreational fishermen, tribal representatives, environmental organizations, and federal and state government.
